About Us

Marcia Hyatt is a presenter and coach on leadership and life. She has worked as a leader and in leadership development over the past 30 years. Marcia is the creator and host of the weekly radio feature “The Best of Ourselves” and was a regular columnist for the Minnesota Women’s Press 2006-2009. Over the past few years, Marcia has created and facilitated innovative, highly-rated  leadership development programs for a number of Fortune 100 companies and other organizations.

In 1991, with Ginny Belden Charles, Marcia co-founded Waterline Consulting LLP. She was a partner in the firm until late 2009.  During her tenure at Waterline, Marcia wrote articles and chapters as well as received the 1995 Minnesota Organization Development Practitioner of the Year award. In 2006, Waterline Consulting was awarded the national “2006 ToP Champion Award” by the Institute of Cultural Affairs (ICA) for “modeling and embedding the culture and values of facilitative leadership… to help leaders, teams and organizations develop insight and increase innovation.”

Marcia, along with Deb Ackley  and Ginny Belden Charles, co-founded the Center for Emerging Leadership and its Women’s Leadership Community, an intentional learning community that supports women in bringing their whole selves into the world.

Prior to 1991, Marcia held leadership development positions in computer and energy businesses. She also served on the faculty in the University of Minnesota Extension Service.

Marcia also co-owns and manages the Last Chance Studio & Gallery and A Room of One’s Own, a personal retreat center in Lutsen, MN.
